Outdoor Education
When I was a child, I spent all day outside to find adventure, and to explore my imagination. Today, many children are not able to spend as much time interacting with nature. For this reason, I believe that students should have outdoor experiences, such as field trips, nature walks, and camping.
Stanley Park Urban Camping
I supervised my students on an exciting urban camping trip facilitated by Stanley Park Ecology Society. It was a great experience. The camp was easy to access. The meals were healthy and the students were expected to cook a dinner. The activities were diverse, ranging from forest exploration, beach adventures, night walks, survival, rope skills, and tenting. Students were taught life skills through environmental science. Students showed a sense of responsibility while having fun.
